About

Lanie Alabanza, also known as Misslawn, is a global design director, brand architect, and pioneering force in women’s street culture.

At 22, she moved from California to New York City to immerse herself in the epicenter of fashion and music. After early roles at Triple 5 Soul and Rocawear, where she rose from graphic designer to Art Director, Lanie helped shape collections connected to cultural icons including Jay-Z, Patricia Field, and Rihanna — laying the foundation for a career built at the intersection of product and culture.

In 2005, she co-founded Hellz Bellz (HLZBLZ), one of the first women-led streetwear brands to challenge and redefine a male-dominated category. What began as bold, thought-provoking graphics evolved into full ready-to-wear collections, creating a global movement of independent, fashion-forward women and establishing Lanie as a pioneer in female streetwear.

Beyond HLZBLZ, Lanie has built and launched multiple brands and creative ventures, including Belle of the Brawl, YouthYouth, JUNYAmafia, and Whatever Forever, each exploring new expressions of culture, youth, and product storytelling.

Through her design and consultation agency, LABism, she has partnered with global brands and cultural leaders including Nike, Vans, Stüssy, G-Shock, Reebok, Sanrio, Warner Bros., Savage x Fenty, Puma, HUF Women’s, X-Girl, Melody Ehsani, and more translating cultural insight into product, narrative, and commercial impact.

Today, Lanie leads at the highest level, as Global Apparel & Accessories Design Director for OTW by Vans, leading the creative vision for elevated product and collaborations at the brand’s most progressive tier. She drives concept through commercialization, aligning cultural insight, product innovation, and cross-functional teams to build cohesive product worlds that elevate brand desire on a global scale and bridge street culture, innovation, and elevated brand experience.
